“Anything is possible.” —K. Garnett, June 2008 This is the greatest painting I have ever seen. With some oily brushstrokes of pop-cultural and sportingly inspired geniusness it brings together everything from my childhood onto one beautiful canvas. Cartoons, He-Man specifically (“Bring me some Fudgicles! Fahkin’ Mastahz of the Universe is on, ma!”), sports, and ties brings it together into a plaintive, pleasant masterpiece of a mash-up. I want this so badly, but I’d feel guilty keeping it from the world. Almost brings a tear to my eye it’s so absurdly wonderful. Why CAN’T Larry Bird and Skeletor, or any sports hero and cartoon villain, enjoy a milkshake together? World leaders take note. Bet they’re both talking about how much they disliked Isaiah Thomas.
Somone uploaded this picture of a painting, which they claimed to have found in an ice cream parlor. In case you were wondering, that’s Larry Bird enjoying a milkshake while sitting with Skeletor, the arch-enemy of He-Man. Skeletor appears to be enjoying a cigarette instead of a delicious lactose treat. I love milkshakes and Larry Bird, but I also enjoy a smoke every now and then, so this picture was begging to be blogged about.
